Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Before you apply, ensure you meet the essential eligibility criteria. You must:
-
Hold a passport from an eligible country
-
Be outside Australia when you apply and when the visa decision is made
-
Plan to visit for tourism or short business visitor purposes
-
Satisfy health and character requirements
-
Have a genuine intention to stay temporarily
This visa does not permit paid work.
Step 2: Create an ImmiAccount
All eVisitor visa applications are submitted through the Australian Government’s official immigration portal. To apply, you must create an ImmiAccount using a valid email address.
Once your account is set up, you can start a new application, save your progress and track the status of your visa online.
Step 3: Complete the Online Application Form
In the application, you will need to provide:
-
Personal details exactly as shown on your passport
-
Passport information
-
Your travel plans and intended period of stay
-
Health and character declarations
Accuracy is important. Incorrect or incomplete information can result in delays or refusal.
Step 4: Provide Additional Information if Requested
Typically, no documents need to be uploaded at the time of application. However, the immigration authorities may ask you to supply further evidence in some cases. This could include information related to your health, character or travel history.
Step 5: Submit and Wait for the Outcome
Once you have completed the form and checked it carefully, submit your application. After this, most applications are assessed quickly; however, processing times can vary if additional checks are needed.
You will receive an outcome by email. The visa will be electronically linked to your passport, so there is no physical visa label.
After Approval
The eVisitor visa is generally valid for 12 months from the date of grant. Within this period, you can enter Australia multiple times. Each stay can last up to three(3) months.
You must use the same passport to enter Australia that you used in your application.
